A healers path is never straight like an arrow...

A healer's path of self-healing and enlightenment is never a straight road. The path is full of obstacles, twists, turns, and surprises. Our ancestors know this truth. We are not taught this in modern societies as we are inundated with all kinds of pain/pleasure stimulation that can make us forget. This memory has been embedded into our consciousness affecting our cellular bodies, our vibration every single day. We are taught that the quickest path to take is a straight path, this is for the mundane world achievements and accolades-goals. However, the path to self-awareness. mastery and love winds like a river with new adventures around every bend.

I recall years ago when providing spiritual counsel to a client I was asked: "how long have you been healing?" I answered, "15 years now." I can still recall the astonishment when asked, "well, how long does it take!?"  I didn't have an answer for her then, but I do now. It takes as long as you are capable of remaining true to your authentic experiences in life and can truly experience and express growth and development in mind, body and spirit matters.  I mean, after all, healing from life long abuse wouldn't happen overnight. After all, this is our souls' mission, our plan.

Never an easy task to explain the word enlightenment is not for just for gurus, buddhas or religious clergy, it is very everyone to achieve if they choose to. Free will. Enlightenment is what the Unalome in the first picture suggests:

"The unalome symbol represents the path to enlightenment in the Buddhist culture. The spirals are meant to symbolize the twists and turns in life, and the straight lines the moment one reaches enlightenment or peace and harmony. The dots at the end of the symbol represent death, or the moment we fade to nothing ..."

Although I am not a Buddhist per se, I do follow and believe in a lot of its tenents. No one should be rushed on their own path to healing. Remember the more we heal ourselves the more we are available to assist others and the world to heal from millennia of trauma.  Peace and harmony can be achieved as long as we are prepared to do the work.  Simply put it's the shadow we are called to work with and on to find authentic expression by acquiring self-love and acceptance.

I love you!
