The Impact of the Moon in our lives & what it means to YOU

Many people have asked me what the importance the planets really have in our lives.  I mean do they really affect us and if so how?  The unbiased and scientific answer I give to those questions are an emphatic yes! They DO affect us!

Thus, I thought I'd dedicate an astrology series of blogs on the personal planets and how they actually DO affect you and I on both an psychological and emotional level.

Added to the importance of sharing this vital information with you is that we've got a Full  Moon Lunar eclipse coming up on April 15, 2014 and many souls are wondering what' the big deal is anyway? My desire is that this blog will offer them clarity so that they can deeply embody what the universe has in store in terms of spiritual growth and development.

As the ruler of the tides, the Moon is the ruler of our emotions.  So much so that there have been terms of expressions that we use all the time as a collective in direct reference to the moon, such as, “waters run deep?” “Making waves?” “A wellspring of emotions?”

Ah yes, our emotions have long been correlated with water as both are considered  fluid, momentous, shifting, ebbing and flowing,  a churning from within.   Science has proven that the gravitational pull of the moon can actually cause mood swings, instinctive responses, and has seen how our feelings can affect others on an unconscious level, all  of these things are in a direct relationship to the Moon. If you ask any ER nurse or Doctor what happens during the full moon they can tell you that they get more patients that come in from disputes, that can turn violent and those who need psychiatric care!

The moon gives us our souls portal to our HEART. Our needs are magnified by this celestial light and provides us with the opportunity to be present through our emotions when interacting with others.

The Moon is the divine mother Goddess in archetypal energetic expression, thus in astrology the moon IS the mother and the relationship between woman and child. This light speaks to role of a woman as nurturer. Not surprisingly fertility, pregnancy and childbirth are also governed by the Moon, and is how our caregiver or mother nurtured us through our childhood and established how we will relate to others as adults.

The Moon is often most unconsciously associated with women as the Moon’s phases will create “moon swings” of a perplexing and potent variety that can be expressed in short bursts of time! We're up and down, naughty or nice, and may laugh wildly one moment and then cry at the drop of hat!

Lastly, it is through the Moon's energy that we seek to reconcile and understand these varied emotions in order to make ourselves complete and understood through our interactions with others. The Moon also helps us see what it is we NEED and to use our unconscious memory and the past as part of this process.

The Moon spends roughly 2 1/2 days in each sign and takes 28 days to circumnavigate the zodiac. Within the western culture the Moon is considered a feminine energy and rules Cancer and the Fourth house of the astrology.
